I dog sit for a 14yr old dog about once or twice every other month. I have a town home that has wooden stairs leading to the first floor. The dog is constantly slipping on the stairs and I have to spot her.
I love my wooden stairs and do not want to put in a permanent runner. Does anyone know of a relatively inexpensive and temporary solution?
You can use the rubber backed bath matts, cut them to size and place on the steps. They will not slip and give the dog a better surface to help him.

Rubber bath mats are a good idea. I use that safety tred tape that is sold at walmart. I use it for everything from putting on my stairs for my dogs and even down to scale sized for model trains. Either is a good solution.
