@NielsShoe I guess you could say that but if you buy a lower end computer that has 3 gigs but can hold 8, why not go ahead and fill it up if you have the money. Because when you start look at cpus, and gpus. You might also need to upgrade the psu and by the time you do that your looking at right around the same amount of money. But either way is good, as long as you feel like it makes you computer run quicker and does what you need it to do.

You should look at …
You should look at what type of ram your system runs. There are different types: DDR1 DDR2 DDR3 and SDRAM. the brand does not matter(but pick a good brand not the super cheap ones) Hope i helped(there is a limit your motherboard can handle, so take a look at that aswell!)

Did you check if you have the right type of RAM?
Let’s say you had SDRAM but you bought SRAM, then they’ll just conflict with each other getting your “nothing to load” error. So just make sure you have the same type not just the same amount.

Hi all, I need help with my RAM. I have 1gb in my motherboard and I still have a slot to fill. I bought another 1gb RAM but after I installed it, WINDOWS is not loading. Nothing appears on the screen. I tried using my new RAM without the old one in both slots and it works fine. It says my motherboard can upgrade my RAM up to 8gb but I’m quite disappointed because I was not successful in making it to 2gb. OMG please help me.
