I wonder too. I don't have an exact reason, but I figure blacks are just genetically better runners; their bodies just seem to be suited for running. It's similar as to why Michael Phelps is built for swimming: large feet, long wingspan, shorter legs. All these are beneficial for swimming fast.

And it's not racist to ask why blacks run faster, especially not against them, considering you're saying they seem superior at this subject. It's just noticing an often common trait among many of the best runners.

To say they aren't though, or to propose that all races are equally built, is dumb. It's great to think we're all equal, but our races are built differently from eachother.

Just because someone has an advantage over another doesn't mean they'll always win though, don't forget that
References :
some people say they have an extra tendon in their knee. But a lot of country's in africa make running for a very long time a ritual(for their religion).
References :
Last night the sportscaster's were talking about a new study that suggests Jamaican's have a protein in their body that make them good at sprinting. In testing 70% of those tested had it. Only 30% of people tested from other Nations were positive for it.

It could be something in their environment, diet, or DNA.

It's been speculated that the same is true for certain Nations being better at long-distance running, etc.
References :
" On the one hand are those who say it's in the genes; that black people were born not only to run but run faster than white folk: on the other are those who baulk at the very notion, saying that the preponderance of elite black athletes is down to class and society.

Actually both are right. Genetics, in the form of having a higher proportion of "fast-twitch" fibres and more testosterone than whites, may predispose a black individual to run fast. But biology alone does not make champions. As well as graft, focus and a winning mindset, the forces which combine to set those fast-twitch fibres twitching in the direction of the school running track cannot be underestimated. "

It's not racist to notice that in general black runners do better than white. Consider how few Asians you see running track, but that's not a slam against them that they don't. It's just not a sport their body's are best designed for.

Of course not all black people are good runners, and some of every other race are fabulous runners...there are always exceptions to generalizations. Blacks do seem (in general) to do well in a lot of sports though were speed and agility are necessary. Apparently Nature gifted many of them with the necessary potential and build to carry it off. ☻
