What determines how fast the bobsled goes. I assume most of it is the starting run, but do the runners actually control the bobsled somehow once it is on the track? Do they have any control over the turns?
The driver steers and the rear man controls the brakes and all the runners need to lean together the keep the sled smooth and fast through the turns. If it wasn’t challenging and very competitive, it wouldn’t be an Olympic event now would it?
