Same runner, pre and post running instruction. INCORRECT, INEFFICIENT, INJURY PRONE ON LEFT: Reaching, braking, scissor kicking, heel strike on left. CORRECT, EFFICIENT, PERFORMANCE ON RIGHT: Butt kick running with forefoot strike on right.

    I just have one question:
    is easy to see that in the forefoot strike the hips are moving more on the vertical axis than they do in heel strike technique. That means that on every stride you have to lift the weight of your whole body… that way, this wouldnt be a more efficient technique… what do you think?

    What really helps me is to pretend I’m not wearing shoes. Landing mid foot is a natural way to run. That’s how humans evolved to run (well, most of us).

    all you have to do is run barefoot and ur body will naturally adjust like its supposed to be. or you could run with vibram fivefinger “shoes”.

    This was a great video. In my experience as a devoted runner, this guy is exactly right. Of course, be prepared for some calf soreness and stiffness when you make the transition. But that will go away in time.

    with knees slightly more bent and kick up higher when your foot goes back towards your butt
