How to clean wool carpet?

I have a wool carpet runner installed on my stairs. Yesterday my dog had an accident and peed down the stairs. I used Dawn dish soap to try to clean the stain at first, but now I have blue stains from the Dawn. I tried Woolite carpet cleaner, but that didn’t work to get the blue out. I’m trying not to resort to a professional cleaner if I don’t have to. Any suggestions? Thanks!
The blue stain is from using blue colored Dawn dish soap. The carpet is a light cream color.

Rinse the spot with warm water to remove the dish washing detergent until the blue is gone. With one part white vinegar and 3 parts water wet the spot and soak up with a sponge or an old towel. Repeat several times. This will clean up the doggy pee and deoderise the spot. If any odour left when the carpet is dry, sprinkle bicarb soda over the spot and leave for a day or so. Vacuum up.

White vinegar deoderises, helps prevent colours fading and is a natural antibacterial. One part white vinegar and one part water in a spray bottle can be sprayed to deoderise rooms (cheaper than fabreeze) and on kitchen benchtops to "sanitise" them.

Bicarb soda is also an odour eater and works wonders in the laundry as a booster for washing detergent.

Which runners/running magazine is the best for a beginning runner?

I’m looking to get a subscription to a runners/running magazine for someone who is just starting to be a competitive runner (training for about 1 year and doing 5 & 10 k’s, half marathons) and I have no idea which to choose. Two that come to mind are Runners world and Running Times. I’m looking for the most well rounded magazine for all things running. Any thoughts from anyone out there?

Pre-race warm-up clothes can be taken off and put in the bag right before you check it…keeping you warm up to the last minute! You can change into them right after the race. If you plan to wear "throwaway clothes" that you’ll ditch early in the race, pack a change of clothes in your bag for afterward. Whether it’s warm or cold, changing out of wet running clothes after a long race will help keep you from getting chilled, especially if you have a long walk back to your hotel or your car.

Why are some people faster runners than others?

Okay, so I’ve been wondering what makes people better runners than others, so at school, we were sprinting and all my life I was in the top 3 of all the classes in my grade, but the thing is, why? No im not skinny but Im not fat either, I have muscle on my legs and im 5ft6" and weight 145 lbs, yes, own the butt and tits and all, and I do run long distnce rather well, but why is it that im faster than others in my grade? Thanks!

Hi.I think the main reason why some people are faster then others is because the faster people just practice more at being fast.

For graduation, I got a 2005 GMC serria. With gas prices should I have gotten a four runner instead?

No, unless mileage is your top priority.
The GMC gets lower mileage because the chassis is so much beefier than a toyota’s.

How many of the runners run only during the week?

Of 145 runners, 72 run only on the weekends and 63 run on both weekends and during the week. How many of the runners run only during the week?

Total # of runners = 145
Weekends plus week/weekends = 72 + 63 (135)
145 – 135 = 10
10 run only during the week.

Simplistic poem from a Runner!!! x?

Run
Jog
Or walk
Every morning
For a short time
Your own world
You go
Drifting away
From earths misery
Seek nothing
Not even health..
Just to run
And be Free
Forgeting everyone
Forgeting ‘Me’

The last two lines sum up the reason, in my opinion. It’s a time of disassociation, and does work.

Stair runners help pleasee?

Can anyone find a stair runner, exactly like the one in the picture, on the link below:

http://www.johnlewis.com/Competition/CompetitionPage.aspx?CompId=331

It is painted on it : you can do it yourself with floor paint and masking tape.
Just have to live downstairs for a few days, starting painting on the top to the down and let it dry before you varnish it ( matt finish)
A friend of mine has done it to her place

What is the best protein or workout supplement for Cross Country runners?

I’ve been told these are good for long distance runners, I’m just not quite sure what to look for. I Run twice a day, mornings are hard workouts, afternoons are more tempo based workouts. I Run about 15 miles a day. So what would be the best kind of whey protein or muscle milk to drink or make?

The best protein is found in foods with a lot of carbohydrates, like pasta and such. For morning workouts get G2 the power drink. never get gatorade or powerade because they have a lot of sugar and G2 has close to none! the electorlites help keep your energy moving.

can I use the same rug thats in my living room area and for my front door runner?

I recently purchased an area rug for my living room, it is beautiful!!! Although it is a solid color, the material is very unique and i was wondering should i just purchase the same rug for the runner (they only come in 3 colors and the other colors don’t match my decor). I live in a condo by the way, very open, spacious floor plan. Thanks in advance

1. Yes you should use the same colour as unity & cohesiveness do wonders against complication.
2. But having said that it is plain in colour, it might not stand the heavy traffic along the entrance.
3. Do you really need a runner in the first place???
