easy to change,no special tools needed…due to there design,when the belts wear,they go thin changing the drive ratios slightly making it go slower…

the belts can be tricky to replace, but i wouldnt say is the problem if just very slow. with those miles in mind i would change just for peace of mind but at the same time replace the rollers, springs and maybe clutch shoes.

Have the rollers been changed ? If not then this might be a problem as well as the belt !
15000 is a lot for both these parts (mine were changed at 8000 when i had a scoot)
Buy yourself a Haynes manual and you will have no problems changing either part (just make sure you have the correct basic tools for the job and follow the instructions to the letter)

It could be the exhaust pipe is blocked up with carbon, quite common on most 2 stroke bikes, can be cleared out with caustic soda but take the exhaust off the bike and put a bung in one end and then leave it overnight might help, a friend of mine had a siomilar problem with his 50cc twist and go put a new exhaust on it in the end worked a treat.
