I want to put a 70cc kit on my Gilera Runner.
Firstly any recommended kits that are better?
What carb/jet sizes will i need?
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

Firstly make sure any 70cc kit you get will fit a Piaggio type engine. If you get a high-end 70cc kit you will need a bigger carb, 17,5 would do fine. For the jet size, i would say for a start, get one around 95 or so, smaller chance of overheating or destroying your engine if your running rich. If 95 is too big, move down 5 sizes and try again. If it feels too lean(engine revs to max in just 1/2 turn of the throttle) get a bigger jet. There are a lot of scooter-tuning forums where you could ask, people there are very friendly.

There is not usually a "standard" bhp figure for a 50cc scoot, because many countries classify a 50 as being a moped if it has less than a certain hp, and that figure varies according to the country. In my country it’s 2kW, which is 2.6hp. In California and some othe US states, for example, it’s 2 hp. This site

http://www.uk.gilera.com/media/runner_sp_50_1.pdf

says it’s 3.3kW (4.4hp) unrestricted.

The Runner 125 is 10.6kw (14hp) which is probably the same everywhere, because it fits the UK’s 14hp limit for some classes of novice rider.

Sometimes when i turn it off after a long ride it makes the sound that a fizzy drink bottle would make when the cap is half screwed off so i think thats not holding the pressure?
I head gasket problem is a biiiiig problem, i seriously hope its not!
I head gasket problem is a biiiiig problem, i seriously hope its not!
*A head gasket problem
Yeah it may be an overflow because i did fill up the coolant tank a little too much last time i filled it!

it is over heating and i would not be surprised if you have not seized engine i dont think you have a leak but it is over flowing

Not familiar with a Gilera Runner 125, but I do know engines. If you’ve got compression, fuel, and spark, then maybe your problem is your battery, assuming you have an ignition system that uses the battery…

If you’ve got your spark plug out of the head, it takes very little voltage to spark it. It takes a LOT of voltage to spark it in the cylinder under compression. If your battery is weak at all, you can try to start it all day and you just won’t have enough grunt to fire your ignition coil.

Another possibility is you have fouled your spark plug trying to start the bike. Again, it’ll spark when it’s out of the head, but under compression, it might be dirty enough that it can’t push the spark across the gap.

Pull the plug, spray it with carb cleaner, scrub it with a wire brush, blast it with compressed air, check your gap, squirt a bit of carb cleaner in the cylinder, reinstall the plug, and give it a kick. If a fouled plug is the problem, it’ll fire right up.

Good luck.
